Boat-tailed Grackles have dark eyes. Males are glossy black. Strictly coastal, except in Florida where they occur inland (often around human development). These birds forage on the ground, in shallow water, or in shrubs; they will steal food from other birds. They are omnivorous, eating insects, minnows, frogs, eggs, berries, seeds, grain, and even small birds. Taken in Florida
