Description
The Columbian ground squirrel is a species of rodent common in certain regions of Canada and the northwestern United States. They are stout, with short dense fur, which is characteristically tawny across the bridge of the nose. They are "one of the most vegetarian of all the ground squirrels". The Columbian ground squirrel hibernates seven or eight months out of the year. Their most common activity above ground is standing at attention. Captured in Montana, USA.
