Description
The Egyptian geese pair will build a nest in a wide variety of spots, using the grasses and leaves of the plants in their local habitat. They line the nest with soft feathers to ensure that the tiny chicks are warm and comfortable. They lay 5-10 eggs at a time, which take 28-30 days to hatch. The rearing of young chicks is taken on by both males and females. Egyptian geese usually pair for life. Both the male and female care for the offspring until they are old enough to care for themselves. Egyptian Geese are the most common exotic animal that can be found in Florida. Egyptian Geese are also protected by federal law under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Taken in Florida.
