Description
Zebras are several species of African equids (horse family) united by their distinctive black and white striped coats. Their stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual. They are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds. Unlike their closest relatives, horses and donkeys, zebras have never been truly domesticated. The unique stripes of zebras make them one of the animals most familiar to people.
This photo of zebras was taken in Safari park Ramat Gan, Israel. The Safari Park, which is part of the Zoological Center of Tel-Aviv Ramat Gan, is a unique African safari adventure in an open plains setting in which a variety of animals can roam freely. In the heart of Israel, just a 15 minute drive from the center of Tel Aviv, you can view the animals up real close in a natural looking environment.
