Description
Founded in 1848, the Boston Public Library (BPL) was the first large free municipal library in the United States. Now the Boston Public Library contains approximately 24 million volumes, and electronic resources, making it the third-largest public library in the United States behind only the Library of Congress and the New York Public Library.
The focus of this photo is on marvelously cantilevered forms of the BPL’s entry lanterns which are elegantly designed.
