Description
There are 16 different species of wild rabbit in the United States, the most common of which is the eastern rabbit. These wild rabbits have a short lifespan due to being killed by many predators, but they maintain their population by producing up to five litters of young each year. The diet of wild rabbits consists mainly of plant matter, and they prefer a habitat that has both a plentiful food source and hiding places that allow them to escape from enemies. This cute young bunny posed for me standing on its hind legs among green grass and wildflowers. Taken in Massachusetts.
